Tornado in Springfield MA??

Spouse on I91 around Springfield, MA heading north. Cars on other side of 91 overturned, trees snapped off at top, some sort of event-type tent on the road. Emergency vehicles in the area.

Any other reports?

Weather sites indicated Springfield was heavy storm area this afternoon, and there was a tornado there a year or two ago. Wunderground.com radar indicates the storm heading northeast.

Everyone in the area okay?

Might want to stay away from I91 south around Springfield/Enfield for a bit.

Hartford is about an hour south of Springfiled, MA, for those who don't know the area.

Not sure if still in effect, but the winds have subsided here a lot. Springfield still has serious damage from the twister a couple of years ago. I'll have to go hunting for some news.

I couldn't help posting on the other thread, going with the humor, but that was before my spouse called to tell me she saw overturned cars and split trees.

You are right, though, that it can be entertaining/frustrating when DUers assume that the other 200,000 of us know exactly where they are. Sure, everyone knows that East Petticoat is in southwestern Pantaloon County in northeastern Tennessee, or as they might refer to it on the scene as EP in PC in TN. And of course we all know that it's the south side of EP that is the good side of the tracks.
