Fred Weir
The Christian Science Monitor
June 28, 2013

... The official line, expressed by President Vladimir Putin, is that Russia will not hand Snowden over to the US but that he should move on, the sooner the better.

Sen. Ruslan Gattarov, head of the Federation Council's working group to investigate Snowden's claims, says his main concern is not to investigate the NSA.

He insists the committee's key interest is to explore the alleged abuse-of-trust by giant Internet companies – such as Google, Yahoo, and Facebook, and others with huge slices of the Russian market – which Snowden's revelations suggest have handed over user data to the NSA ...

... The Kremlin's human-rights envoy, Vladimir Lukin has said that Snowden flying to Moscow has created a serious problem as China's issue has become Russia's issue and now they have to deal with it, Wall Street Journal reports.

Russian president Vladimir Putin has denied US' extradition request and calling him a 'free man' said that it will be better for both Snowden and Russia if he chooses his final destination sooner.

According to the report, Putin's stand made Kremlin's approach clear that Russia would not stop Snowden from escaping the US prosecution but would not help him stay in Russia either ...

According to the report, both Russia and the US have said that they don't want to let Snowden sabotage joint efforts to improve diplomatic relations after a year and a half of mutual hostility ...

“We invite Edward Snowden to work with us and hope that as soon as he settles his legal status, he will collaborate with our working group and provide us with proof of US intelligence agencies’ access to the servers of Internet firms,” Russia’s Ria Novosti news agency quoted Senator Ruslan Gattarov as saying on Thursday.

The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short).

In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c." Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with "k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.

Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful, and they would go.

By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "w" by " v".

During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou", and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.
