Can't WE make a difference?

I live in MA which isn't (at least currently) in any threat due to voter ID laws....

But can't we at DU set up a network of people who would be willing to help people get the ID they need? I'll bet if we got something together, we could even get the Democratic National Committee to help us get the word out that the assistance exists....

There must be something we can do.

Let's brainstorm about it and see what we can come up with.

But don't we all know people from different states.... can't we get them involved, or ask them to get us in touch w/ people who are willing to be involved.

In an age where I can type something and get a response within minutes.... an age where someone can Tweet something and have it seen by millions within minutes.... Can't we do something before November 2014?

challenge would be in getting enough people to "knock on doors". He said this would need to be done in face to face communication, and so on. I also question how soon before the election they will change the rules.

And I know a MA delegate who may be able to help me out with contacts.

I'm serious about this.

If we can get national $$$ and advertising, we may not need to "knock on doors." Maybe people will call us and we can connect them to people who can help (transportation, filling out forms, etc.)

The voter suppression drive is irrational to be sure, but if we can beat them at their own game, I'd be proud as hell.

because people may need help getting the documents they need to get the state id's required to register. they are clearly hoping people will get lost in meeting the various requirements. Many are screaming this is just a photo i.d. law. What they fail to recognize is that the requirement for photo I.D. can knock out a lot of people.

Maybe she can help.

Maybe she can get us all in touch w/ people who will help.

I may even call the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

I want NONE of those voter ID laws to matter.
