Just occurred to me- The Markey win is the coffin-nail of "Benghazi" scandal.

Haven't heard a thing about it since Markey won Kerry's Senate seat. Leads me to think the GOP getting that seat is why it ginned-up the scandal in the first place. If Susan Rice became SOS then Kerry would still hold the office. "Big controversy" made Obama fall and pull her nomination. (she was/is MORE than qualified, imho) Now that Susan Rice is National Security Adviser and the GOP saw a chance to get Kerry out of there, they stumbled over themselves to confirm him as SoS.

Maybe THAT was when Benghazi became moot... but with the Markey win (hooray!!!!) the word "Benghazi" may never pass a Republicans lips again.

Thoughts?

plausible, and intelligent scenario. If it's true - it's their dumb luck to have played themselves . . . because intelligence is not something I assign to the average Republican.

They don't need any concrete reason to continue to push Benghazi beyond "it's something bad we can say about Obama and who cares if it's true".

So no, they won't stop talking a out it.

After the last three successive "scandals", Obama's approval rating has finally taken a hit. That was their target, to weaken the Dems going into 2014.

Mission accomplished, dammit.

They'll keep returning to it, llying about it, until something new to lie about comes up.
