If Rachel Jeantel were to post on DU today,

many people would immediately chide her for her diction and/or using the term retarded.

At some point, they might consider her situation. That would not be high on some lists.

1. If she were to post, I would hope she'd say something like, "stick your rear on the stand for hours,

over two days, and see how you would do?"

I think any reasonable juror will see that her testimony boils down to, "My friend Trayvon was afraid of a relentless stalker who was pursuing him while my friend was on the way home on doing nothing 'suspicious' other than talking to me."

2. There was a poster at DU who used questionable grammar and got a lot of grief

But most of it was good natured.

3. I'd tell her that she did an amazing job in remembering what happened,, in keeping her cool

during that grueling cross examination, her diction is just fine, and I completely get where she's coming from. Despite the public outcry over the insensitivity associated with the term she used, it's still used a lot by people (without ill-intent).

4. I would chide her for not being averse enough to lying.

But I do feel sorry for her that she has to go through this.
