Ohio 12-year-old kills self after fatally shooting 9-year-old half-brother

A 12-year-old boy in Ohio is dead after reportedly fatally shooting his 9-year-old half-brother and then himself.

Jackson County Coroner Gregory Hawker on Wednesday said that autopsies showed that 9-year-old Blake Campbell died almost immediately after being shot in the head with .44-caliber revolver. His half-brother, 12-year-old Austin Wiseman, then put the gun under his own chin and pulled the trigger, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

The children were at home alone when the shootings occurred on Tuesday. They were later discovered by their grandparents.

It was not immediately clear why Wiseman had shot Campbell. A full autopsy was expected to be completed in about six weeks.

“I know Austin was very loving and caring,” relative Shirley Causey told the Dispatch. “In my mind, I’m just thinking that maybe Blake found the gun and Austin tried to take it away from him and it went off. He didn’t do it on purpose; I don’t believe he would have done it on purpose. He loved his brother, I know he did.”

Unless the kids were subjects of abuse and made a pact, but that of course, we will never know.

senseless gun-related killings of children must we endure? Damn those who care nothing for these children and enable the NRA-manufacturer $$$$ promotion to kill any chance at meaningful reform in this country.

Put one round in the gun and pass it over to him. Give him a shot of Bourbon if he thinks he needs it.

Im so fucking sick of this "tragic accident" bullshit. Its fucking child endangerment plain and simple. If its YOUR gun, its YOUR fault. What. The. Fuck.

in the title (to be sure there's no misunderstanding)

What's the body count have to be ???

When I listened to all the rabble about Ben Ghazi, I concluded the number was four. Three deaths and we don't get upset but four...yeah, four's the number. Call out the congress to investigate four.

So where are the congressional hearings a la Issa. We're at 5000+ and ticking every day since Newtown (and that doesn't even count the 26 that day). More than Iraq. More than 9/11. More than four.

Sheesh

If this was my house, and someone hurt themselves running with scissors, it would be my fault and I'd be paying big time. What's going to these homeowners...because it was a gun it's going to go down as a tragic accident. WTF is wrong with this country.

I wonder if the 9 y/o's shooting was an accident. I lost a friend at 12 whose brother accidentally shot him, his brother was emotionally devastated ... his life has been pretty much self-destructive ever since. How sad for these boys and their families.
