Just a question regarding the apoplectic NSA hand-wringing

So, if the NSA has "copies" of all of our cellphone communications, and if the cell carriers are required to record and turn over all of our cellphone conversations, then why don't they just play the recording of the conversation between Rachel Jeantel and Trayvon Martin?

If you actually believe that all of our conversations are being recorded without a warrant, it seems we could clear up quite a bit about what happened that night.

Do you see how "silly" it is to think your phone calls are being monitored en masse?

if we are talking about the current level of technology or leading edge that is out there (or NSA has its hands on). Where that argument falls apart is that the data is being stored, and in the near future, with enough of a technological leap it can be possible to do as what you describe.

This is one dangerous slippery slope, so yes lets have the debate.
