the smear campaign against this guy begins. turns out he loses his daughter if he leaves the area, so he turned down out of state offers while he still had a local lead
but the misleading article did the job, look at how vicious the comments are

(392 posts)he was getting any offers outside of the state before he had the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES making calls for him?!?!?!
he still isnt gotten an offer in the DFW Metroplex, a major tech center (at 6.3 million, the largest metro in the South) even with the POTUS helping him, that sure suggests the market is glutted
but do you know that no H-1bs were hired for that work that month in DFW? that's what this is all about

(9,974 posts)Having been divorced in Texas, I also had custody/visitation set up by the court. Had to either live in the county where my ex did or the immediately surrounding counties. Yet he was able to move to another country when they were still minors (I was the custodial parent) and in the divorce papers were visitation rules if the parents lived greater than xx miles apart.
Would be interesting to know the details of his divorce paper custody/visitation wording and if he has made any attempt to talk to the courts or his ex about getting the necessary changes made since this does involve job issues. If he has no income, his child is probably not able to get child support if it is ordered, so I would think his ex would be fine with doing whatever he needed to do in order to get child support for their child.

how many families must we sacrifice on the alter of cheap labor?!?!

(25,029 posts)So, I guess the answer is about all of them minus the wealthy folks, their families are sacred.

(23,973 posts)In a recession there are usually sector labor gluts, and labor will move from areas of low employment opportunities to areas of higher employment potential, taking their families with them.
Thus has it ever been. There have been instances throughout human history of mass migrations in order to secure employment; some left everything behind to find work on a new continent.
People who for whatever reason decline to avail themselves of these opportunities to move in order to secure employment self-delete themselves from the labor pool.
Your concern over Mrs. "Dance A Little Jig For Me" husband is noted.
