The only way to turn Texas blue is to KEEP the Democrats that we now have and find more of them!

I'm sure it warms her heart to know folks are now "fighting" over where she can best serve...
All joking aside-She's a winner-TX is better off because of her service.
She really is an "old school Dem", imo.
Good luck to you all

Both Castro or Davis would be much better than Perry.

I think we need to keep Davis in the Texas legislature for awhile so she can kick ass there

of VRA, sections 4 and 5, good luck with that. I'm in 100% support of Dems in Texas but y'all have an up hill battle cause your fellow GOPer are RED re-districting as we speak. More lawsuits on the way.

Cheers to Ms. Davis!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I don't get it that other Dems can't take over for her or why in the world she can't lean on anything or for heaven's sake go to the bathroom. How in the world does anyone go 13 hours without needing to use the bathroom???

That's just crazy though. It's pretty much torture to have a rule where only one person can filibuster and they can't even go to the bathroom in all that time. It's pretty amazing that she's doing this considering these barbaric rules.

in the U.S. Senate, people can change back and forth to keep a filibuster going.

edit: Yes, I mean the way it was.

No need to actually speak, much less wear a catheter.

Anyway, each body that allows a filibuster has its own rules.

I can easily stand on my feet for 13 hours, even at my age, but the speaking would be difficult - the voice would probably go. She needs to depend on the microphone and conserve her voice. She's already wearing the right shoes It also appears from the photo that she very smartly is wearing support stockings to help her legs. It is terrible that they have given her a hand-held microphone - those things are heavy! They should have provided a microphone on a stand.

She can do this - it's written in her face.

#1 - Wendy Davis is so awesome that she does not need me to say it....that's like saying the sun is really hot - its just self-evident!

#2 - I would cackle my ass off and fly to Washington to watch ANY old white man GOP senator attempt anything even CLOSE to that kind of restrictive filibuster.

Eh-hem, paging Harry Reid...Mr. Reid, this fine woman from Texas has just shown you exactly how it looks to have a pair of brass balls...and hers are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than yours.
