Limbaugh on Supreme Court ruling: ‘The civil rights community wants perpetual discrimination’

Right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh wasted little time on Tuesday gloating over the Supreme Court’s ruling to strike Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act.

“The civil rights community wants perpetual discrimination — reverse discrimination, if you will — to continue, for political reasons,” Limbaugh said on his radio show. “This isn’t about making amends anymore.”

Efforts to avoid voter suppression, Limbaugh assured his listeners, were really about both “advancing liberalism” and keeping the African-American community angry and focused on “getting even” with Republicans.

“There’s no reason for it, just like there’s no reason for affirmative action anymore,” Limbaugh said, possibly alluding to the high court’s decision on Monday to send an affirmative action case back to a lower court. “Affirmative action was illegitimate in the first place.”

Limbaugh also took issue with lawmakers in both the Senate and the House renewing the act in 2006, saying it “had no business” being renewed because the discrimination inflicted upon communities of color in the past “had long been dealt with.”

“It was clear, and those two votes were highly illustrative of attitudes everywhere,” he said. “Regardless [of] what the right thing to do was, nobody had the courage to do it because they were afraid of being called racists.”

please ..... Oh well once again the repugs and their people on the court will try to stop
people of color from voting and once again they will get crushed in national and in many
statewide elections by a strong voter turn out by people of color and after their next defeat
they will talk about how they have to be more inclusive.

BTW who really gives a crap about what Rush says?
