The strongly worded front-page commentary in the overseas edition of the People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist party, responded to harsh criticism of China from the US for allowing Snowden to flee.

The Chinese government has said it was gravely concerned by Snowden's allegations that the US had hacked into many networks in Hong Kong and China, including Tsinghua University, which hosts one of the country's internet hubs, and Chinese mobile network companies. It said it had taken the issue up with Washington.

"Not only did the US authorities not give us an explanation and apology, it instead expressed dissatisfaction at the Hong Kong special administrative region for handling things in accordance with law," wrote Wang Xinjun, a researcher at the Academy of Military Science in the People's Daily commentary.

"In a sense, the United States has gone from a 'model of human rights' to 'an eavesdropper on personal privacy', the 'manipulator' of the centralised power over the international internet, and the mad 'invader' of other countries' networks," the People's Daily said.

I haven't found a single country yet, other than our partners in war crimes, even faintly amused by our government's self-given, arrogant *right* to *hoover* the whole world's communications. For America's sake, I hope we defeat this because we weren't very nice to everyone on the way up.

someone who can be tracked back to Bush steps up and stinkbombs the entire deal.

I think what TOO many people forget is that it is the Bush family that has held the reins of power in US-China dealings since the 70s, and they have no intention of ANY ONE ELSE becoming part of the equation.

Has everyone forgotten that Clinton had prepared to meet with China for years, and then right before the meeting someone mistakenly bombed the Chinese embassy in Belgrade? The person in charge of that 'accident' was later promoted by GWBush, shortly after he took office.

Snowden goes to a Bush ally's newspaper in China for an extensive interview?

Snowden worked for Bush-loyal firms.

Anyone who actually paid attention to how exactly the BFEE operates would see Snowden as a classic character for a BFEE operation made to 'appear' to be coming from the political left. 5 decades of this crap, and so many Americans and Democrats are still easily drawn into these dog and pony shows.
