For those curious, the USDA sends units to Afghanistan to help farmers plan and market crops

For anyone who was flabbergasted that the USDA would have material about handling classified information and leaks.

I trained with some of these guys. Good people. There's even a pretty innovative program they do with a National Guard unit from somewhere very ag-heavy (Iowa? IIRC?) where the Soldiers built and helped set up extension centers (I think they're called NIFA in the US now); they're pretty popular, just like the ones in the US.

Several US universities are involved in training scientists as well as training farmers. It's a great program.
