While we wait for the Patriot Act and all of its bastard children to be repealed...
https://duckduckgo.com/ is a browser that does not store info on you. Also, it's a different experience, and I am starting to like it.
Here's the story on the company:http://upstart.bizjournals.com/news/technology/2013/06/13/duckduckgo-grows-after-google-bing-nsa.html
And their privacy policy: http://donttrack.us/

(20,878 posts)I like it too.
It is nice to be able to run a spyware scan, etc. and have it come up clean!
I'll continue to use this (and Dogpile (which allows you to select the link and where it takes you too, i.e. Google ... ).
Google no 'mo!!!
& recommend!!

(75,480 posts)I have a little button on my main page that leads me to their website. I must remember to use it all the time.

(20,878 posts)If so, it can be used as an "add-on". Otherwise, you can click on the search tab and it gives you the option to change your default to other search engines like DuckDuckGo or Dogpile.
Best of luck with this. It was a simple thing to do and I disabled the "add-on" being I don't really need it being I was able to change it via the search bar.
