Snowden has flown to Moscow.

But that may not be his final destination.

I wonder if they'll be interviewing him there.

The South China Morning Post reported Sunday that Edward Snowden was on a plane for Moscow, but that Russia was not his final destination. Snowden has talked of seeking asylum in Iceland.

gives me a great deal of pause, and I don't think I'll be the only one. Early polling showed that while the American people by some 53% didn't approve of domestic surveillance, an equal number thought that Snowden should definitely be prosecuted.

I have to say that his movements, once he fled the country, are probably going to be very disturbing to the American people. Let's face it, some Americans may not trust their own government, but I think trust for Russia and China is probably on par with that of NK & Iran.

if he had wanted money he could of sold his soul to the highest bidder in silence, you know, like congress, the house, and the $80 billion dollar a year security industry. he could of had his face in the trough in so many ways and you or i would never of known.
maybe "comrade eddie" did not want to be a "good german" or trust the other "good germans" to protect him.
but sure stick your head in the sand and go all 1950's and blame reds under the bed if that makes you feel safer.

in the last few weeks we have seen clapper lie and be exposed as a lier, mueller lie and be exposed as a lier, and with the release of the FISA court submission, obama lie and be exposed as a lier, you can actually watch all these people lie, read the documents that expose these lies, and watch what snowden said about his motives, and i know who looks more trustworthy to me.
how can anyone defend these liers is what i dont understand, nobody can plead ignorance.

what russia and china do have in common is, nukes, and a lack of fear.

So it wouldn't be a sure thing, would it? The longer Snowden can keep the ball in the air, the more he gets to play 'hero'.

What a farce.

mourned El Commandante and Maduro did everything he could--up to and including parading around waving a giant picture of Hugo--to make the point that they were joined at the ideological hip.

There's no flour for arepas, there's no chickens, there's no toilet paper....the whole country is being run on a "just-in-time" inventory system, only they're days late and dollars short.

This tells it like it is: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/05/16/the-crappiest-economy.html

Even if they let him join "the Boligarchs" (the Revolutionary top one percent, with their stashes of dollars and summer homes on offshore islands) that gravy train is going to grind to a halt--and then where will he be?

Also, the crime rate is horrific. He needs to have a rich sponsor who will pay his bills, because he'll want to live in a gated community with plenty of security. Even at that, he's a good kidnapping prospect (this is a not-uncommon moneymaking activity down that way)--some criminals might snatch him up and then try to shake down Assange or Greenwald for his safe return...!

Because of diplomatic complexities, Snowden is unable to leave the airport and his situation drags on for months. Wikileaks will set up a web cam so we can watch Snowden as he sleeps on a chair, shaves in the Men's room, buys chips from a vending machine, talks about how much he misses his girlfriend...well, maybe they'll give him some off-camera time for that.

Oh, the fun we'll have!
