2. I tuned in to their new morning show -
Thu Jun 20, 2013, 10:57 AM
Jun 2013

for the first time today. Gandolfini's death was first (I get that), then a story about a lost dog who found its way home. then a story about Paula Deen having a racist potty mouth, and then some other (obviously forgetable) fluffy stories.

Really, CNN?

Top of the hour and there's nothing else to be talking about this morning?

They are an embarrassment to journalism.

and by the 31st century was an Admiral

http://www.lavasurfer.com/cereal-fictional.html

. .

"Admiral Crunch" and "Archduke Chocula" were both 31st century breakfast cereals depicted on the animated TV series "Futurama". They were seen on the second episode of the series, episode 1ACV02, "The Series Has Landed". The routine went like this:

Fry: "I'm never gonna get used to the thirty-first century. Caffeinated bacon? Baconated grapefruit? Admiral Crunch?"
Leela: "Well if you don't like that, try some Archduke Chocula."

Figured Kim K. found a pimple on her butt, Beiber got stopped for speeding (again), some celebrity wore the same outfit that another celeb had already worn, one of the "Real Housewives" got into a verbal confrontation with another housewife, new photos of a totally ripped __________________ (insert name of favorite star) have appeared, Rand Paul said something stupid, Michele Bachmann said something stupid, Rush Limbaugh said something stupid, Louie Gohmert said something stupid, Jim Inhofe said something stupid, Harry Reid threatened to deal with the filibuster situation again, Paris Hilton has done something outrageous for the free publicity, The Donald said something stupid again, Lindsay Lohan is back in court for something, another reality show has been revealed to be a fraud, Sarah Palin said something stupid, etc., etc., etc.

Gotta admit, they're getting more creative: Cap'n Crunch is a new one. What's next? The Leprechaun hawking Lucky Charms isn't real?

Anything they can do to divert attention from the real issues. Why talk about jobs, corruption in government, people in Congress who lie to us, failure to prosecute Wall Street, etc., when you've got pimples on the butt of people who are famous for no reason at all?

No kidding, they actually spent a lot of time this morning discussing the new flavor of Oreos, both on CNN's 'Early Start' and that horrible new program with Chris Cuomo (moron) and Kate Balduan, 'New Day', I think it's called. Why is Chris Cuomo on tv at all? He is an affront to journalism!

they have two networks - put all of the crap on HLN, and then give us news on CNN. Is that too much to ask?

CBS is the only network that is still trying to do news in the morning.

Personally, I think Crunch is a pirate.

"I sing a song of Captain Crunch
The sugar sweet cereal that's fun to munch
It's great for breakfast or even lunch
No amount of milk will make it lose it's crunch
So all ashore that's going ashore
Get Captain Crunch at your grocery store!"
