Progressive talk radio?

A few months ago I started working for a local radio station up here in Northern Maine. It's a conservative area - and most of our programming is very conservative as well. I've been given permission to start changing things around a little bit, unfortunately, not to get rid of Limbaugh or Beck, but I can start with getting Dave Ramsey out of our programming. Generally he runs from 10 PM to 1 AM - and I've also got the option of changing our morning programming from Americas Morning News, which airs from 6 AM to 9 AM.

Generally, our programs are full of male voices, and I'd like to get a female progressive on the air if I can. I've checked out Stephanie Miller, Amy Goodman, and Randi Rhodes (not sure of the spelling on that one). Does anyone have any suggestions on a show? It's a small AM station, and our brand is talk radio, we don't have an unlimited budget... but it would be good to get some fresh air in here, to do something to make some headway against the conservative ownership of talk radio...

which also handles Limbought. She might be an easier host to sell to the management.

If you want to add another great male voice, I strongly recommend Thom Hartmann.

I personally think that people who are more intelligent simply do not find radio broadcaster's opinions as enticing or addictive. So for them talk radio is not a very good platform on which to deliver advertising. Progressives are more intelligent than Conservatives, at least in these times that is clearly the case. I offer up the likes of Michelle Bachmann and Virginia Foxx in comparison to Elizabeth Warren and Al Franken as proof. Liberals and Progressives are simply more intelligent than Conservatives and no one panders to them because they flatly reject it. So while the country is flooded with right wing talk shows you rarely find an alternative on the left.
