I've started using an interesting little program called Ghostery and it's been a real revelation regarding the amount of tracking "trusted" web sites are doing.

It also got rid of an annoying popup that AdAware and Malwarebytes both failed to detect and fix.

I'm old and enough of a Luddite that information gathering in my case is pretty thin. I shudder to think what kind of information is being mined from kids who glom onto each new gadget as soon as it's released.

BTW, the DU site is relatively clean.

But including his information in a massive government database led to his arrest. He was held for 19 days under a fake name, with no access to family and limited access, if any, to legal counsel. The FBI initially refused to inform either Mayfield or his family why he was being detained or where he was being held. Had it not been for Spain's intervention could well have led to his execution.
