you want to know what the problem in syria is? there aren't any good guys

Of course there rarely are in this sort of mess, but in syria finding the "good" rebels to align ourselves with is exceedingly difficult.
This is an Iran/US proxy war we'll be fighting and it isn't about human rights or saving lives or any of the other pablum shit that supporters of U.S. intervention are being spoon fed like the drooling morons that they are.

both sides are avidly committing atrocities and just saying "both sides" is kind of misleading. there are lots of factions on the rebel side.

we're playing proxy war with Iran. That's all that this is about.

you have to at least go through the motions of enforcing it. Otherwise no one is afraid of your threats.

It was a poor decision to establish such a red line.

It is to our advantage and to our allies in the region if we can keep Assad busy defending his ground rather than on the offensive, even if we have to arm some Al Qaeda...

to live their lives, go to work, send their children to school all in the middle of a war zone. Those are the good guys and they are always the ones stuck in the middle and the ones who pay most dearly while people with guns struggle for power and money.
