Spent all night working on this design: Bin Laden dead, GM alive (Original Post) usregimechange Feb 2012 OP
That would play well here in Michigan. Denninmi Feb 2012 #1
The only thing I would consider is, maybe, a lower case b on bin Laden, otherwise, Perfect! patrice Feb 2012 #2
It starts the sentence, though, so the upper case works. MADem Feb 2012 #10
Correct. & BTW, I also thought about starting the sentence with the positive energy: alive. patrice Feb 2012 #23
Though having Alive as the last word on the bottom line DOES feature that word. patrice Feb 2012 #24
If a person's name or product starts with a lower letter, it still is low at the start of a sentence Ter Feb 2012 #26

I think it would look goofy to start off with a lower case b--it would look like a mistake.

OTOH, if he said GM is alive, bin Laden is dead, the lower case b would be fine.

A good example of this is iPod. Start of sentence or not, it always is a lower case i.

That's a Brit-script invention. In Arabic, there's the "b" that starts a word, and the "b" that occurs in the middle of a word.

The NYT goes with the big B to start off the headline:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/02/world/asia/osama-bin-laden-is-killed.html?pagewanted=all

CNN, too: http://articles.cnn.com/2011-05-02/world/bin.laden.dead_1_al-qaeda-leader-tora-bora-bin-laden?_s=PM:WORLD

For brevity you might get away with
Osama DEAD
GM ALIVE

ANd then maybe a "Obama for america" wrapped around the circle..... Although i like it just fine the way it is!

yes, unfortunately, he was human. Humans do things like slaughter for the fun of it- animals don't.

45. Logical fallacy.

Feb 2012

Humans are animals. To say that animals don't slaughter for fun would preclude humans from doing so.

Also, it's factually incorrect. Virtually all species of feline from the great-cats to the domestic housecat kill for sport, observably. As well, chimpanzees and orang-utans within social and domesticated groups have been observed to commit (for very human motivations even) murder against rivals and the mates & relations of rivals. Just goes to show, our closest primate relations are really not all that different from us after-all.

It is a powerful reminder of two important accomplishments that people seem to forget, rather than generic election sticker.

Instead of circle have outline of US with stripes as shown with blue stars of different size some what like Subaru logo.

I think it's the rounded serifs; just looks to playful for the sentiment. I guess I'd use either a sans-serif font or something like the font on this sticker:

But I do like it!

"GM alive and Bin Laden dead"

1) I think reversing the order is more dramatic
2) it's punchier without the two uses of "is"
3) it echoes Teddy Roosevelt's demand "Perdicaris alive or Raisuli dead!"

Claim he was dead. Then torture him to get intelligence out of him. And nobody knowing to object, like Guantanomo Bay. Nobody even knowing he is still alive.

By the way: WHERE'S the body again?
