On PRISM, aka Google for Tyrants: Has it been used to prop up 3rd world dictators?

How many dictatorships has the U.S. propped up? I've lost count. Iraq, Afghanistan, the Shah of Iran, Mubarrak, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Guatemala...

We're all concerned about PRISM, aka Google for Tyrants, being turned on us - the supposed checks and balances that keep that from happening are laughable.

But what about all those people outside of the U.S.? How many times have activists tried to organize, to build support for democratic reforms, only to find themselves ratted out by a well-placed whisper from the State Dept. to the local warlord? How many people have been beaten, arrested, harassed, tortured and shot because of PRISM?

Nobody on the outside knows. The only people who do know aren't talking - they're all bound by the Code of National Security Omerta.

But I'll bet that number's not zero.

Care to bet against me?
