the worst charities in america

ranked on the basis of the amount of money they paid to rais emoney. in most cases less than 5% of the money raised went to their "cause"

1. I have to ask, is the "International Union of Police Associations" actually a union?

I ask because all of the union members I've ever know were people but the name above implies that Associations can be members of that particular union. Also, what is the affiliation with the AFL-CIO. It sounds to me like a made up organization that in all likelihood has no union association at all and that the word union and reference to the AFL-CIO was just put in there to entice contributions from the unwitting.

I suppose I'm on a million lists because I've given to something or other but this group sends me stuff all the time and then sends me gentle reminders that I did not make a donation for any of the stuff they sent me! Still, they don't take me off the list.

Charity Balls for bored, rich, housewives. They would spend 3 or 4 million dollars on a lavish party so they could slap themselves on the back for raising $100,000 for "charity".
