There's more gun madness going on and no topics on it?

How did DU come to reflect the Corporate Media? Three deadly rampage shootings in three days. Nobody in here appears to be talking about it. Moms Demand Action is trying to get something done. Gabby Giffords is trying hard. And I can't find a thread for it today. The one I found is locked and closed.

Point of order: I call the most in your face members of the NRA who want NO Gun Regulation to be called "Armed Zombies". I think it hits the mark. I'm also calling out responsible NRA members to boot Wayne LaPierre and get someone who will stand by their word.

This has become my cause this year. I'll leave Congress to deal with the Patriot Act. We can call them directly, rather than go round in circles here. Meanwhile, the NRA is getting friskier and holding the line against sanity.

Personally, I am feeling disillusioned and powerless, and this issue is just one reason for it. But thanks for trying to bring it to the forefront again. I've tried to, and it can be a thankless task.

And today there was another killing at a school. And more and more every day it seems.

'Moms Demand Action' have chapters around the country and they need volunteers to establish a presence. I've volunteered to help man a booth on June 22nd, a day devoted to the "ASK" campaign.

"It would involve staffing the craft booths and talking to parents about the ASK campaign (Asking Saves Kids). It's all about getting parents to ask if there will be a gun where their child goes to play (neighbor, friend, relative's house). We have materials with guidelines that help with the conversation."

I recommend looking up a chapter near you and giving it your all. I really think this is a vital fight It's civilization vs chaos.

btw, I'm not a mom, but they're letting me help anyway.

But there is action upcoming and a really good site for pushing back.

http://momsdemandaction.org/take-action/

I love discussion and debate. But it's way too late for that now on the subject of gun violence. It's time for action. I'm putting my faith in Moms Demand Action. They're feisty. They're taking to the streets. They need volunteers to get the job done though.

I'm making a plea for help.

HELP!!!

8. There was a heartbreaking article on Newtown in the Wash Post two days ago. About how the parents

have given their all and nothing has changed. How they are facing the "lonely, quiet" of life without their children. It was absolutely devastating.

If Newtown couldn't change things, I'm starting to think nothing can.

It only takes giving up for nothing to happen. It always takes action.

It sounds trite, but it's right!

The Congress will deal with this. Write your Congressional Reps. But take action on Gun proliferation and stand up to bullies and blowhards like LaPierre and his ilk.

Don't let gun legislation die. It's too easy to be lazy. But you'll wind up depressed as hell for doing nothing about it when there was a chance.
