I have just spent the day arguing with someone that I will never agree with, that words should be used as defined, not just used incorrectly to taint people.
What the heck - who did the Obama's murder and/or rob?
I swear I am never going to stop until I get this person to apologize. I am so sick of people using tainting words to color up an innocent thing. How is bravely facing up to a heckler a thug thing? why don't people like knkow what they are saying, is this part of the continuing ignorance of the public?

(53,661 posts)This has been put out since 2008 and never stopped, an insidious smear that has nothing to do with the lives of the Obamas. But it's part of what's cool, dissing them.
Wounded Bear
(58,691 posts)plain and simple.
The Obamas have class that the Repubs can't paint on to their folks, so they attack them and call them names that fit themselves.
It's very much schoolyard "I know you are, but what am I?" kind of crap. Frankly, they used to be a bit more subtle and sophisticated in their attacks. It's become very blatant and open since the '09 inauguration.

(5,946 posts)I like to use a very old fashioned board with all the word editors and such that keep the peace so republicans and democrats can discuss (lately dog whistling) stuff. Like, any curse word will be edited out automatically, you can't call politicians names - I contend that thug is a disparaging word and should not be used, but it flew under the radar there. I am sure the moderators will soon delete the whole discussion as it is about rudeness of a board member - board on board talk.
