On Tuesday, Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., told leaders of conservative groups appearing before the House Ways and Means Committee their groups should have been targeted by the IRS because of their involvement in politics.
<snip>
He lashed out at the six conservative witnesses appearing before the committee, saying "each of your groups are highly political" and deserved the extra scrutiny they received from the IRS.
McDermott also called the hearings a "circus," characterizing them as "political theater," claiming Republicans are looking for a conspiracy that doesn't exist.
<snip>
"Let's not forget this happened under an IRS commissioner appointed by George Bush and was investigated by a Republican inspector general, he said. While Douglas Schulman was appointed by Bush, he supported Barack Obama, and his wife was very active in the Obama campaign.

Needless to say, he was attacked by Paul Ryan, who was applauded by the Tea Baggers in the audience. Also, he has been lambasted by many in the media. They simply cannot handle the truth.

(3 posts)Jim McDermott was right on and again the MSM misquoting him "harrasing" when
in fact he did say the teabaggers deserved to be scrutinized, but the rightwing
BS bloggers go on whatever they can grab to spew their poison BS
Anyways these teabagging groups were fraudulent, they applied for a status
that did not belong to them, now they cry and pretend what we all know
they are wolves in sheep clothes...IRS should have been stronger in
affirming that to get the status they had to be "exclusively" promoting
social welfare (something teabaggers aynrandians would never do)
but they wanted to go low radar with the IRS misuse of the word "primary".
Yes the IRS violated the law of Congress if they approved anyone of
these bastard teapoison southern confederates
