Stabenow money bomb tops Hoekstra's expenditure on racist Super Bowl ad

Just received this email:

Dear XXXXXX,

I want to thank you for already making a difference in this Senate race.

In just a few days, we easily beat our “money bomb” goal of matching the $144,000 that Pete Hoekstra spent on his shocking Super Bowl ad. Thousands signed the petition and donated to the campaign to show that they will not stand for politicians who say or do anything to get elected.

Pete Hoekstra tried to hide his record in the worst way possible – and it backfired.

There’s only one candidate in this race who voted for the $700 billion bailout: Pete Hoekstra.

There’s only one candidate in this race who voted for the irresponsible Bush tax cuts that added $1 trillion to the deficit: Pete Hoekstra.

There’s only one candidate in this race who voted to protect tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas: Pete Hoekstra.

Today, thanks to you, I have some good news to share. The Detroit News reports, "Hoestra backs off ad." Michigan Radio is even more clear: "Hoekstra yanks controversial ad."

One thing we learned this week is what kind of campaign our opponent will run. We can expect an onslaught of negative, misleading attack ads that ignore the facts. That’s why we need your help more than ever today.

Can you donate $10, $25, or $50 right now to make sure we’re ready as soon as they launch their next attack?

Thank you for your support,

Dan Farough
Campaign Manager
Stabenow for U.S. Senate
