So why do the Rethugs/Teabaggers hate Obamacare so much?

Other than as Michele says it will kill babies (lol) and I can see why the pharmaceutical Co's
don't like it ...buy why the absolute hatred from the whole party? All they do is try to repeal it without giving good reasons why it's so harmful. I just don't get it! Even some Dems have fallen for their propaganda.

But they are more adamant about repealing the ACA than ANYTHING ELSE that's been passed. Why don't those poor people in the heartland like it? I'm sure most of them don't have health insurance and the Gov. will help them afford it. It still remains a mystery. I know they vote against their own self interest...but anti HI is a little extreme!

Adding to this its complex, and complexity of anything feeds into repug negativity.

They don't have to put forth a reason or a plan just as Congressional GOP members are blocking conference on the budget. GOP does not have any plans to govern and they just say no. I think in a few years when ACA is fully implemented and citizens begin to realize the benefits maybe Obama can get the proper credit.

They listen to the likes of Rush, Beck, all the fox news team, and many other right wing talking "idiots" that push the BS because they are being paid to do so!

These people are so damned gullible they believe all the BS they hear from the media, which is owned by the same corporation that will be losing out as things change thanks to Obama care. Remember the old saying "there is a sucker born every minute", and from what I see the republicans have found everyone of them!

elected officials and their talking heads don't like it is straight forward.
1) It reduces profit. Preexisting conditions are not profitable. Not being able to 'pull coverage' in case of severe illness also damages the bottom line.
2) This is the big one. It may become popular. It may set the stage for a national health care plan.

That would really impact the bottom line!

Think about it. What do insurance companies actually DO to make that profit.

and I don't have the exact quote - but paraphrasing he said that is the Democrats can ever get anything close to universal health care apssed and it works at all, Republicans will never get elected. I t was during the Clinton attempt at HC and Kristol was Gingrich's top aide.

Democrats try to be rational and reasonable to a greater or lesser extent, being reasonable never enters Republican minds in the first place.

The liberals went ahead and did what you want? Suckers, you hate the idea.

Romneycare became Obamacare, straight from the Heritage Foundation and a quintessentially Republican idea that forces Americans into the private market for insurance and they loathe the implementation simply because it was the other side that did it.

Republicans can turn on a dime and give you nine cents change, they can go from "criticizing the President in wartime is treason" to "The President is a traitor" in the same wartime without taking a breath in between.

They don't see it as the government helping you, they view it as the government twisting your arm into compliance.

They think that government should provide for the general welfare, not provide the general welfare. Or

They think that a large government is one in which influence peddling, bribery, and lobbying is likely to be a problem. If a small government is corrupt, piffle. It's small and inoffensive, and there's not much of a motivation to corrupt it.

They think that government should be intrusive on their terms, not on other people's terms. (There's a pretty good consensus that government should be intrusive. They insist on dictating to people bedrooms and prescribing or proscribing what happens there, others insist on dictating to people as regards their more public actions and prescribing/proscribing what happens there--and this extends to thoughts and motivations, and that's where I think it's a bit too Orwellian. But, in general, everybody wants to dictate to others. Meh. Primates.)
