Haven't had the news on but I can imagine that it would be hard to cover if the locals are suppressing the reporters. Notice how the Monsanto protests got no coverage?

K&R'd your thread, sorry I missed it, I've been up some 30+ hours and not really on DU for the majority of that time. Just wanted to post this thread before I got a nap.

Thanks for your thread.

No doubt RT will cover it since the Russians will want to overplay it.

I honestly didn't want to start a topic because I was so obsessed about Libya and I know I am mostly hated here but I couldn't help it. Seems redqueen beat me by 20 minutes or so but I didn't see her thread. Glad someone else is watching.

He and his ruling AK party believe in interventionist ways in the parts of the old Ottoman Empire, especially Syria. It is not popular with most Turks and they are now showing their discontent. The Syrian civil war is definitely spilling over into neighboring countries.

I honestly expect a regional ME war within a few months at most.

I am definitely worried, I have a friend in Istanbul.

When do we start bombing the Turks?

We should establish a no-fly zone at the least.

13. No need. I'm sure the Kemalists in the army are planning as we speak.

If it doesn't stop soon, Turkey will again have a military government.
