they are subjecting us to this repubicon anti-choice, pro-fracking, pro-war porn, letting them get their message against liberal/progressive values out there unfiltered, after all. Why not Netroots, too? They are largely younger activists allied with liberal causes, just like CPAC is with conservatives--and they have the added benefit of not being homophobic, racist, and xenophobic.
I think we need to start demanding it via social media, emails to the stations, and any other way we can. Netroots deserves equal time.

(20,805 posts)Case in point the Democratic idiot that tweeted something offensive about David Beckham's tv ad during the SuerBowl and was suspended indefinitely, versus the tea-bagger that said she wished she could've "dropped trow" and pissed on the dead Afghani's alongside the Marines that were being investigated for it...she's still on the air...
Good old "liberal" media...

I mean, "demanding" anything from the Mighty Wurlitzer will only validate its existence, and make it more powerful. Better to take the air out of its pump and make it weaker.
The purpose of the mainstream news media is to sell advertising, not to inform you. It method is to make you feel like shit about yourself, your life and the world, to feel helpless and insignificant so that you will salve the pain of your pathetic little life by purchasing the New and Improved! Whatchamacallit Gizmo or Food Product®. When you write letters or Twitter your complaints, it tells them that you are paying attention, and helps their advertisers to target their messages.
Unplug the cable, stop giving Comcast your money, and don't buy things from the big advertisers.
Much more effective that way...
