That was Santorum, giving his concession speech the night he lost his last race in Pennsylvania. Any politician worth his salt knows that when you win, bring everybody up to the podium. Share the glory, share the spotlight. Thank every last person, by name if you know it. When you lose, you go up to the podium alone. Maybe (just maybe) you bring your campaign manager or spouse, but by no means do you do anything but take the blame for the loss yourself, resolve to do better next time, and work harder to bring your ideals into practice.

Santorum bringing his upset and shocked brood to the podium was nothing less than child abuse, and I suspect a misguided attempt to deflect the blame he deserved for losing his incumbency.
