Tornado reported on the ground in Moore, OK

MSNBC has been live on this outbreak for at least the last hour. They just reported that Moore is being hit again. It is the strongest of four tornadoes right now on the ground. There have been others earlier and they are predicting more later tonight.

There must be quite a few similarly willfully ignorant people populating the board tonight. The post was adjudicated before I got to it - and no one thought it should be hidden.

I guess the up side is the willful ignorance is still hanging about for everyone to see - and I don't see anyone else chiming in with an "atta-boy."

Right now there are hundreds of DU'ers who are either directly involved (and now it is in St. Louis and across Missouri, as well as still affecting OK), or who have loved ones in the affected areas and we see such disdain and a chance to score some cheap "Rethugs are bad" points. But, like you say, it is refreshing to see people respond in a way that reminds us there are many who do care.

Your behavior is no better than that of the Westboro Baptist Church when they picket funerals with their "God Hates Fags" signs to send the message that whatever tragedy is being mourned happened because God is punishing all of us because the liberals are being sinful. The only differences are that you believe a different group is "sinning" by their willful ignorance, and you call God "Mother Nature."

And I was already too late by about 10 minutes.

I almost didn't even try - because of the idiocy a week ago, and how many juries rejected alerts 0-6, 1-5. I finally decided it was worth risking not being able to alert for 24 hours just to make a point to the admins, if nothing else, and got the immediate reply that the jury had already decided to leave it.

I would say it's punishment for the willful ignorance for Republicans letting CO2 get out of control. As we know most Conservatives don't believe in human contributions to climate change. So this is their punishment. Too bad the tornados can't sweep up just the deniers.

Yea, it's bad to say that but I don't care anymore. Deniers are like smokers who have aggravated my asthma over the years. They deny or ignore smoking is harmful and seem blissfully unaware their habits harm others.

Really, it's all of our punishment. If we keep pumping more CO2 into the atmosphere storms will get stronger. Warmer air produces more moisture. More moisture produces stronger storms. Hot air, like today in OK, gives storms more energy. The 90 degree OK heat gave the storm a huge amount of energy which spawned 2 super cells and several tornados. We're also going to see tornados going further north than before.

So I would probably rephrase it to say, "It's Mother Nature's schooling the Republican Climate Change Deniers." That's probably safer to say.

I have never seen so many strong storms so closely timed together. My puppies are very unhappy because they can't go outside because of the weather. We open the door, and they look at us like, "oh hell NO!" We have been very fortunate because we haven't had any damage, hail, or really bad wind. **knocking on wood**

All the bad stuff (nothing like you have had) in Kansas has been around us, all around us.

I hope we both stay this safe. Like you I also think this odd. Been here my whole long life and have been in an F5 like last weeks but to see so many like this is creepy and very worrisome. We have had major storm training this time. One after another in the same area and we even had a wedge that was moving at 5 miles an hour that some weather spotters said went backwards. Odd stuff.

Stay safe.

... At least I've seen a number of right wingers go after him for saying Monroe instead of Moore...

Well, at least we shouldn't probably respond back to ask why God hates Oklahoma so much as they probably would do if SF got hit by multiple earthquakes.

Man that's tough for them. Hope that there finally at least builds some consciousness of the need to deal with Climate Change as one good thing to come of this crap they're dealing with.

And it wasn't that long ago that nearby Joplin got hit hard earlier by similar devastating twisters. Had an uncle that lived near by there, but he passed away about a month ago from other age related ailments. I guess I'm glad he's at least not had to suffer through this onslaught if he were still alive now.

I feel so much for them. I remember when the sirens went off a few days after Joplin's. We were in a tent. I truly thought that was it.

For Joplin it was due to the strong strait line winds picking up derby. But we had no idea why. As I said we were in a tent, we had no communication.
