I got a tad too close.
What we do to get news...this is nuts. Those weather channel vehicles are armored, no, not kidding, and have five point restrains for the crew. The non station vehicles on I-35. Shudder

I think that was one of the chase vehicles Mythbusters tested via 747 jet engines providing the wind to make sure they'd hold up in EF 1-3 direct hits.
Scary stuff, indeed. These are scientific chasers, not thrill chasers for hire that just get in the way most of the time.
