Dear Mr. Matthews:

Dear Mr. Matthews:
by I love OCD

I'll make a deal with you. As soon as you let me spend 12 hours pulling a soccer ball through your penis (while encouraging you to breathe through the pain) I'll promise to try really hard to care what you think about my right to choose how often and when I get pregnant.

As soon as you let some tech squish your balls between 2 metal plates that are at a truly awkward height and shoot some radiation into them, I'll promise to try really really hard to believe you have a clue about women's health care in this country.

As soon as you invite a group of women on your program to discuss women's health care issues, and the day you let one of those women complete a sentence I'll promise to try really hard to think of you as a serious person with serious concerns.

As soon as you get it that this is a health issue not a religious issue, I'll start taking you seriously as an intelligent human being.

Here's some religious freedom for you to mull. I'm not Catholic. I find 0 Bible verses criticizing birth control use, and 0 Bible verses telling women it's imperative that they have as many babies as possible or God will be pissed. My religion is more concerned with providing for the needs of those already born and suffering, and with respecting the planet we're blessed to live on...

It's like reliving the most frustrating day of your life over and over and over and over and over....

This issue is so fucking old it can hardly move without a walker and an IV to infuse some life into it.

patriarchal crap decade after decade. It may subside for a time but the old boys always find a way to bring back the same old crap. And each time it comes back, we have a new generation or two we must educate about reality.

These nasty old men do not care about God and they do not care about women. they care about controlling women and their bodies. Nothing else. Control.

For women, the real issue is women's health and their control over their own bodies.

to do to keep moving the ball forward.

I think the issue is a settled matter in the public, the "fight" is all in the beltway and in the beltway acting as a bullhorn for the latter day Birchers and the theocrats, in hopes of moving the easily lead around by the nose into at least the "concerned" group, represented by fuckwits like Tweety.

Rehashing old fights is just a tool to keep progress at bay and kind of like buying a lottery ticket, where one doesn't expect to win but allows a chance.

There is no public outcry about contraceptive coverage, they totally manufactured this shit as a distraction from doing anything economically. Fucking fucks.

emailed Chris the following:
"As the grandaughter, daughter, sister and mother of Holy Cross graduates, I know that a primary goal of the College is to teach critical thinking. You must have skipped that course. Your race to jump on the bandwagon of the Conference of Catholic Bishops over the birth control issue was stunning for its lack of critical thinking. This is not about religious freedom, it is about insuring the health and wellbeing of women in this Country."

after little boot's "mission accomplished" PR stunt, matthews went on and on how the president looked so manly in his costume, how women all over the country must be sighing about the president's studliness. It was enough to make me want to retch.

I call him the Mandibular Masturbator, always jerking off at the jaws. Can't shut his freaking mouth. Damn, I wish one guest would just reach over and smack him in the chops, just once. I haven't been watching him, but the boob tube was on last night and he was the boob that was on the boob tube. Wanted to retch when I heard what he was saying.

Kudos to the author of the OP. Loved it. I'd call him an asshole, but assholes have a purpose, otherwise we'd all be backed up with poop.

heavily Catholic-populated area -- there aren't many who are practicing what they're preaching when it comes to birth control. I don't know of ANY big families in my area. They're either using birth control or they're practicing abstinence. Makes me want to gag when I hear their presidential candidates making a big fuss over having birth control made more affordable to their voters.

Just look at how small Newt's family is -- despite having had THREE wives! Judging from his recent stance on birth control, he should be the father of at least 21 children by now.
