Does Anyone Else Here Feel That The NRA Should Make A Public Statement To.....

call out people that might send letters laced with Ricin to public officials as reprehensible? Shouldn't the NRA say something to the effect that the way to work things out is through public discourse, debate and voting versus trying to harm people that disagree with them by sending them letters laced with ricin and making threats.

Wouldn't that be the right thing for the NRA to do?

Or do they just sit back and behind close doors - laugh about this - and give tacit approval of such acts.

To me their silence on this matter - speaks loudly.

4. I'd rather there be no such statement from the NRA at all.

The words would be meaningless. There is no point in seeking any sort of dialog or compromise with gun militants. Not any more.

6. What makes you think that this person has anything to do with the NRA?

There are literally hundreds of firearms advocacy groups around the country, thousands of gun clubs. Do you think their members are sitting around laughing? Do you really think they are at all pleased with this? Do you really think they want some deranged nut bag running around trying to poison people?

No one approves of this. And claiming, without a shred of evidence that any one group or person does approve of it, seems very wrong to me.

of the NRA. My reaction to this thread is, huh?

Has the American Bar Association made a public statement about the ricin letters? What about the American Automobile Dealers Association, have they made a public statement condeming those that sent the ricin? Has Handgun Control Inc. made a statement? What about the Sierra Club or the World Wildlife Fund, have they said anything?

Do you mean the NRA disagreed with them on gun issues? The ricin thing has nothing to do with the NRA, so far anyway.

It would be a "no win" situation for them if they got anywhere near it.
