you've unfairly used statistics which have not been approved by either the NRA, or the Gungeoneers don't you? Also, you did not mention anything about lug nuts, vice grips, or any of the other important features of some guns which makes them different from some other guns.

This is obviously a Liberal OP which is biased toward fact, with little or no regard for the right-wing Constitutional right to contribute to the obscene proliferation of guns in this great nation. When the governmental tyranny begins, you will be grateful for the NRA civil-militia freedom fighters and their AK-47s.

7. Fact #11
Wed May 29, 2013, 01:53 PM
May 2013

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has not had a Director since 2006. The position has been staffed for over 7 years by Acting Directors only, who, due to their status as "acting", have limited power to fully and effectively manage the agency and implement the long-term, innovative programs necessary to fulfill its mission.

Republicans, driven largely by the National Rifle Association, have vowed to never approve a permanent ATF director. It's part of a plan to indefinitely forestall any and all enforcement of gun laws.

How about helping a brother out and explaining it to me. It honestly confused the fuck out of me, I don't know what it was supposed to mean. Trafficking cattle illegally carries a $10,000 fine and imprisoned for up to five years for each incidence (Lacey Act, Amended 2008). Seems pretty stiff to me.

Much easier for them to muse about the hyper-precise meaning of terms such as "brandishing." It's almost as popular as their claiming they hold the high ground with logic, rather than emotionalism. It would all be laughable, if there weren't so many lives at stake....

35. Ineffective? "Illinois lawmakers approve concealed carry gun bill - Shall Issue, no carve outs"
Fri May 31, 2013, 08:44 PM
May 2013

And this from a overwhelmingly Democratic legislature:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1172123641

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/clout/chi-illinois-senate-debating-new-concealed-carry-gun-bill-20130531,0,947405.story

...Chicago's ban on assault weapons would be kept intact, but towns that don’t already have a ban would be prevented from adopting them.

The Senate quickly passed the bill 45-12-1. The House vote was 89-28.

The bill needed three-fifths votes in both chambers because it would affect home-rule cities like Chicago.

"We worked really hard on this bill to come up with something that we think everybody can live with, but probably everybody won't be happy with," said sponsoring Sen. Gary Forby, D-Benton. "But it's something we need to do."

You lot have yet to get concealed carry laws repealed anywhere, so your metric for
ineffectiveness is, shall we say ...questionable

To paraphrase Paula Abdul, what have you done for us lately?

Let's see:

Promoting the fervent belief that all those that aren't with you are NRA.

Acting like the 20-25% of the electorate that own guns had just better
go along with your proposals unquestioningly, or else.

Proposing laws in Congess that don't stand a chance of getting passed.

Giving the anti-union fascist wannabe Michael Bloomberg a pass because he says things about guns.
that you like.

Indulging in cultural stereotypes and regional bigotry.

Thinking it's a good idea to primary progun Democrats in districts and states where antigun
candidates will not be elected in the forseeable future.

Promoting the meme that that those that own semiautomatic firearms are just one bad day away
from going on shooting sprees.

I could go on, but there's no point in doing so. I only accept moral opprobrium from
those that have moral authority.

You see, before the federal penalty for trafficking cattle there were no fences along the road. We here at DU all know the docile cattle are a fairly liberal bunch, and had their union rep work out a deal. It went something like if the government used a social program (read as entitlement) to put up the fences, then the more rebellious right wing cattle wouldn't face the death penalty for being in the road - trafficking, so to speak.
