When I was young the first two columnists I read regularly were Cal Thomas and Donald Kaul...

because they were the two featured in my newspaper and had little pictures which are called something which I cannot recall. Kaul was hippie-looking and vervy-looking. Thomas had that perpetual scowl, like the asshole he is.

Thomas, that POS, is of course, still spouting his crap and lies almost daily. Kaul retired and writes for some Progressive mags and I never see his stuff, but after my mom passed away, I found a whole trove of columns of Kaul's and he was brilliant, funny, and oh-so-truthful. Thomas was just evil...I have to say that these two formed me more than anyone except my parents: I couldn't believe how mean and nasty Thomas was. His statement about Rachel are reprehensible...but nothing new.

I thought Thomas must be around 110 by now. His picture looked about 70 even back then.
I read Thomas for a while - trying to broaden my perspective - but after a month I just figured he was a dumb ass.

Kaul is still writing a blog - I think this is the place:

I wanted so badly for the other side to have a point to all their 'philosophy' which had something other than to do with money or racism. I was wrong...

59, btw.

I've met Thomas, back when I worked for a wingnut in Washington. I always thought he looked like a pedophile.

He was not afraid to say whatever was on his mind. Now I read his column every week in The Register. He is also on line at otherwords.org. I e-mailed him a couple of weeks ago to express my appreciation for his work. When I see a Cal Thomas column I weep to think of the trees that died to provide the paper for his evil words.

Springfield (MO) News-Leader. I don't remember the last time I saw Cal Thomas in the paper. It is usually Krautheimer or George Will, from the RW side. Back in the day, they had the picture of Cal Thomas in the News-Leader, perhaps the same picture that was in your paper. If I were to describe the look on Cal Thomas's face it would be this: he just took a giant bite out of a dog turd when he was expecting chocolate cake.

He was an ass back then, and the only thing that's changed about him today is his venue.

He sole purpose in life is to piss decent people off with his assholiness.
