So Pneumonia is being considered a pre-existing condition

I get this letter from Highmark Anthem. saying that the claim above needed more documentation because my pre-existing waiting period my be reduced or waived.

Flash back to 2011 - Feburary. I think I have the stomach flu am throwing up all nite go to the hospital find out it is a Umbicial Hernia about to break open. Emergency surgery. After the surgery while I'm in the hospital I get Fungal Pneumonia-I think it is from the freakin hospital condictions BUT my mom refuses to believe it- so basically I'm on oxygen for about 2 1/2 months. Didn't have insurance at the time because I couldn't afford it. So I was lucky that Medicaid covered everything -as far as I'm aware. Medicaid still has responded to the doctors offices.

Fast forward to december sign on to the health plan at work I really still can't afford but I do need coverage. So we are reduce to skipping one bill a paycheck to get groceries or go without...I know a lot of people are in this situation so I am not looking for sympathy on that part.

Fast forward to Jan 6th or so come down with pneumonia so I go to the hospital to make sure it isn't that bad. Doctor at hospital tells me to see lung speicalist because they can't tell what's scar tissue from the last pneumonia and how bad it is.

So use my insurance card to the lung specialists and I get this nice letter in the mail demanding all release of my old record to see if I qualify for a waiver or if the waiting period can be reduce--IF at all.

So tell me again why this EFFIN country has the best insurance and is the best country around again?

No more pre-existing condition exclusions, thanks to Obama's Affordable Care Act.

Unless of course Romney is elected.

7 seperate mailings requesting documentation on preexisting conditions on our son. The aggravating thing is that the bill they are disputing was only about $200 total and would not have been paid anyway because we hadn't met our deductible (this was last year).

Furthermore, we gave them all of the information about all of his preexisting conditions on the 6 page application that we filled out just last summer to put him back on our family plan. The same company had kicked him off our plan when he turned 19 even though he was a full time student. We had to purchase a separate plan to cover him until the health care reform law kicked in and enabled us to put him back on our family plan. So they ask for a complete medical history on him even though they had most of it as they had insured him for about 12 years before they tossed him off our policy.

How much money is wasted on all their f***ing paperwork that could instead be spent on actual health CARE? Insurance companies are a total waste of time, energy and money. They need to be death panelled.
