That is an ironic phrase to use in this instance ... since, what it is? 90 percent of adult Catholics use some form of birth control?

So, in fact, it is a tiny minority of Catholics who are so fanatical in their adherence to Rome's decrees that they will not use any form of contraception. Yup, those folks were never going to vote for Obama anyway. (But I would offer that this controversy is actually going to increase the Obama vote among the real 'vast majority' of nominal Catholics.)

But the cartoon, I think, does go to the real reason why the celibate, male hierarchy of the Roman church is angry about the insurance mandate: it will prove conclusively that almost all of the church's Catholic employees at their hospitals and colleges reject the dogma ... how embarrassing for the 'princes of Rome."

contracption is a sin would never have voted for Obama in the first place.

I know of one Catholic couple who are against contraceptives and they have Ron Paul bumperstickers on their cars.

If they have only a couple ... then my hunch is that they are doing one thing and preaching another.

Perhaps they do practice what they preach.

But it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when momma gets tired of being a non-stop incubator.

full hypocrisy in the 'religious' communities. If one does not hold a superstition, why attend meetings and fund the superstition, and more importantly, why allow others to suffer in the name of the superstition, 'Sacraments' and such, when you actually practice what you want to practice not what you are told. Why keep up the pretense and why continue to allow 'the Church' any power at all?
I don't get it. It is hypocrisy. It is nothing they should take pride in.
