The Dominionists have been gaining in strength and numbers in politics for decades - they use stealth, they lie about their true views and try to get into positions of power so that they can institute theocratic rule per Leviticus.

I've been quite concerned about them for 15 years. They stayed below the radar until they felt they had enough numbers to come out and openly promote their agenda. But they still will deny that they actually seek things like stoning gays to death and the death penalty for abortion.

is a perfect example of the Domionist's reach for power.
She has been "groomed" and selected by these dangerous whack-jobs as one of their chosen ones.

What I'm seeing is that there is a growing group of people who want to see harm done to women, minorities, the poor, anyone who has traditionally lacked in power. There is a growing group of people who are becoming downright sadistic in their temperment and their thoughts, mostly based on resentment at not getting what they felt they deserved in life.

It's like that old stereotype of, have a bad day at work so you come home and kick the dog and beat the wife and kids.

I really see this as being all about the glee and release of emotion that comes with being able to cause pain to someone seen as less powerful.

It is no longer about sound policy. It is no longer about what is best for this nation. It is no longer even about religious freedom or political differences.

It is about abuse, plain and simple.

I know abuse when I see it. I know the look of glee in the abuser's eyes when he backs you into a corner and uses you as a punching bag.

I see that same gleam in the eyes of the Republicants and their followers.

...and they're feeling their oats. They should try showing off how many of them there really are, just to show who's boss. Maybe they should all wear the same kind of shirt.

I wonder what color it should be....

It has only been a very short time, the brief enlightenment of the 60's and 70's. Surrounded by darkness.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisenstadt_v._Baird

Eisenstadt v. Baird, 405 U.S. 438 (1972), was an important United States Supreme Court case that established the right of unmarried people to possess contraception on the same basis as married couples and, by implication, the right of unmarried couples to engage in potentially nonprocreative sexual intercourse (though not the right of unmarried people to engage in any type of sexual intercourse).
The Court struck down a Massachusetts law prohibiting the distribution of contraceptives to unmarried people, ruling that it violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution.

It is fucking depressing, pun intended.

Struck down a Connecticut law that actually made all contraception illegal and one of the first cases to discuss the "penumbra" of rights that included the "right to marital privacy". That law had been on the books since the 1870's (a time a great religious "revival" in this country) but had never really been enforced.

Its magical, its maniacal its the Republican STUPID BOX!

Any topic once inside the Republican Stupid box is deemed controversial. Try it for yourself!

I am going to put the Republican Stupid Box over Kindergarten.

Kindergarten fosters lazy work habits because of naps. We should have kids working cleaning bathrooms not napping. Why do we even send kids to school at that age they don't really do anything. It is state sponsored child care for over paid union freeloaders.

after the auto industry showed the 'bailout' worked and after the economy showed signs of improvement. The only thing left for the repubs to drum up faux outrage about is wedge issues and what 'better' wedge issue than 'Obama is coming after God and the only way to stop him is to vote republican'.

It's not working, the public is going 'yawn' as they go about their daily lives.
