Charred Tim Hortons hash brown prompts university building evacuation

A hash brown that received more of a toasting than intended put Ryerson University students out in the cold for 10 minutes this morning.

Around 11:24 a.m., the fire alarm in Kerr Hall went off, forcing students from all wings of the building outdoors.

Bruce Piercey, the school’s group director of communications, said the charred breakfast item sparked the alarm after a trip through the toaster at the Tim Hortons location in the south east part of the building. ..................(more)

We had a similar case at work when some dolt set his hot pocket for half an hour and never checked on it.

Every night some idiot setting off the fire alarms - usually at the worst of times too (like 2 am in the dead of winter).
