Bachmann: God will ‘answer our prayers’ and repeal Obamacare with a ‘miracle’

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is telling her constituents that God will “answer our prayers” and create a “miracle before our eyes” to repeal President Barack Obama’s health care reform law.

In a Tuesday interview with evangelical radio host James Dobson, Bachmann noted that the House of Representatives had recently voted for the 37th time to repeal the Affordable Care Act and that she was hopeful that the Democratically-controlled Senate would do the same.

“I think the President will ultimately be forced to repudiate his own signature piece of legislation because the American people will demand it,” she explained. “And I think before his second term is over, we’re going to see a miracle before our eyes, I believe God is going to answer our prayers and we’ll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare.”

37. Let me get this straight

We are in the transitional phase between the ACA being declared constitutional and its full implementation next year.

Yesterday I printed a paper that puts letters to the editor on page 2. The one we ran was all about how our far-right state legislature doesn't listen to its constituents because they authorized a state-level exchange and gave all these ideas on how to kill it, like no one doing business with it, everyone buying a non-ACA-compliant policy and paying the fine for noncompliance (it will of course cost you more money but it's the principle of the thing), etc. On the same page were three announcements: a spaghetti dinner to pay for a cancer patient's care, another dinner to pay for a couple whose not-yet-born child has a very long list of birth defects and probably won't live six months (most of us would think it kinder to have an abortion than a child who will die after six months of unendurable agony, but abortion is a sin and torturing a baby is not), and a car wash to pay for a heart attack victim's intensive care.

If you would like to know why medical care in this country is so fucking expensive, read that last paragraph. If every one of us ate spaghetti five times a day for the rest of our lives we couldn't dream of funding medical care for all the uninsured people in America. And there's no way these dinners could even come close to helping the people putting them on because the area this paper serves has three thousand people in it. Because there is no possible way to fund $300,000 or so in medical care by feeding spaghetti to the two hundred people who go to those dinners, the hospital has to get their money back from everyone else.

There are only two possible explanations for why Michele Bachmann, who HAS to know this is going on, prays to her false god to abolish Obamacare. One is that she doesn't care. To her, being able to go on Faux News and tell the forty people still watching that President Obama did absolutely nothing in his eight years is the important thing. That would be her "let them eat cake" moment..."the people have no healthcare? Let them eat spaghetti!" The other is Bachmann believes anyone who would benefit from this is what Ayn Rand called a taker (as opposed to Michele Bachmann, who receives farm subsidies because her family owns land, but who doesn't know how to farm) and she wants the takers to die off. If this is the case - I hope it's not - that would land Michele in the DSM-IV on the page for Antisocial Personality Disorder.

ACA is not perfect - not by any standards seen other places in the world - but it is a start in the right direction - and maybe in 50 years time the US would benefit for the same public founded health care system who many other have benefited for in the last 60 year... One of the reasons Bachmann and the rest of the republicans want to repeal the ACA, is mostly because it wa enacted by an black President - a man who the republicans hated long before he was elected - and who they resent still have the White House in Washington DC.. He is the first black man, being the president - and also a democrat to boot - in the climate who from the outside to be the "norm" in the US this days - it look like the fact that a black man - and a democrat is something that is really hurting many republicans "feelings".... And Backmann was one of this people who have used that anger who many feel - to follow up with his out of this words about almost everything..

I just hope the President is able to survive the next 3 years - unharmed and with dignity - the republicans, and people like Backmann will do everything they can, to destroy what the president is trying to do - even wreck the US economical - just to be sure the President are not succeeding in making the US safe and secure - and to get the economy rolling again... The worst enemy US have today - is not the Talibans from abroad - it is the enemy from inside the US.. They are the real danger the US have today - and it is a danger who will fester until someone is taking a stand against it - and is fighting it..
