State Rep. Steve Holland (D) has introduced HB 150, which says that “for all official purposes within the state of Mississippi, the body of water located directly south of Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties shall be known as the ‘Gulf Of America’; and for related purposes.”

at it's best. When you have nothing else going on come up with something absolutely stupid and a waste of people's time and energy. I don't know the origins of the name of this body of water but it has been called the Gulf of Mexico for a very long time and is so recognized around the world.

Just because Mississippi calls it something else doesn't change the fact that the rest of the U.S. and the world still call it the Gulf of Mexico.
