Morning Scabs circus: It was the Wimmen who screwed up the HHS-Catholic deal

HALPERIN and Scabs kept quoting some Bloomberg article, saying that the policy decision was not a spontaneous thing, had been under discussion for (a year?), that BIDEN and the boys, "Irish blue collar Catholics," had submitted warnings and their solid instincts against it, but those darned Wimmen pushed the thing through: SIBELLIUS, yes; but also the Usual Suspect Valerie JARRETT; the First Lady's chief of staff; and other such clueless, fanatic Wimmen zealots. That last week everything was coming up roses for OBAMA, but this week the CA supreme court Prop. 8 ruling and this HHS thing threw his whole reelection into the crapper.

Mika Mouse kept trying to say something but was shouted down by Scabs, who astutely noted she was being a mouthpiece for some pal she has in the White House, which, obviously is a discredited connection for Mike Mouse. Because Mika Mouse is *such* a great spokesperson.

I like the rhythm of the conversation. And they have some interesting and occasionally well-informed guests.

True, they don't let Mika say much, but she doesn't have much to add that I can tell. I think her presence is an example of affirmative action.

Halperin stinks up the screen, but his buddy, Hielemann is entertaining. And so on....

self-important dumbass, but Hielemann is frequently interesting and often wryly humorous.

loyal sidekick, she does all women a disservice by sitting there and waiting her turn to talk (which comes very infrequently)Her place on the show seems to be to roll her eyes and look exasperated most of the time, God forbid she disagree with Scarborough too intelligently. She's the feminist version of Uncle Tom.

You are right about Mika. She sure doesn't flaunt her expertise, whatever that might be.

I give Joe credit for one thing. He is the only pundit that has pursued the long range economics of the effects of automation. He has had a few authors on that write about it. He questions them intelligently, but never carries it to political conclusions. However, he is the only one on TV to have taken it up as a theme.

In the past, applying technology to jobs meant a need for more and better trained operators. Now, applying technology reduces the need for operators, while increasing production. The implication is less work for people to do. Any free market approach acts as a positive feed back and exacerbates the problem. Joe hasn't taken it that far, but I can see him getting near it.

Oh, but mostly, he's a jerk.
