Does anyone take Harry Reid seriously when he "threatens" to curb filibusters?

He has mentioned it again about GOP obstruction of Obama nominees.

3. as a rule (meaning there are exceptions) washington "threats" are usually about something else

e.g., i'll vote against your bill unless you vote for my pork.

for the most part, if you really intend to do something, you don't threaten to do it, you just go and do it.

in this case he obviously would drop it if republicans allowed approval of a few Obama nominees, though of course there's plenty of room for a more behind-the-scenes deal.

Soft spoken, timid... if I didn't know better, I'd say he was more *cast* for that part that really chosen for his seniority or knowledge.

6. Reid talking about filibuster reform is like a Republican talking about minority outreach

Sure, it might make for a headline; but there are never any follow-up actions or results.
