Just said on MSNBC. I did it, got a confirmation to which I had to reply, and $10 goes on your phone bill for Oklahoma relief.

1. Typically the money goes into the general fund for something. Not necessarily for THIS disaster.

If you donate, do so directly to someone with the caveat it must be used for THIS disaster. Unless you don't care and want to help them get prepared for the next disaster.

but huge amounts of their general fund will go to OK.

I don't like directly ear-marking contributions. After 9/11, the Red Cross got in trouble because they had received TOO much money for NYC. They give what's needed. If they get extra, good for them. It will go somewhere where it's needed.
