Human vultures already descending upon devastated Moore, OK

Okay, just what kind of a scum-sucking, low-life piece of human garbage do you have to be to be looting a town where they are still trying to dig kids' bodies out the rubble? Yes, according to the latest reports, looters are now descending upon Moore. I know what I would do with these m'freakers.

There's always a small number of assholes who will take advantage of other people's tragedies. Lots of wonderful people doing everything they can to help; a few low life scumbags preying on the injured and homeless.

There wasn't a single case of looting documented in the aftermath of Irene.

And yes, Vermont politics and politicians are a cut above.

Or, maybe it was because (a) most of the damage occurring from Hurricane Irene was the result of flooded rivers and streams, leaving nothing to loot that wasn't waterlogged, and (b) the flooded areas of Vermont were largely cut off because the bridges were washed out, so nobody could get to the damaged areas to loot them.

But it's more likely because of the inherent wonderfulness of Vermonters.

I was living in Cincinnati when that devastating fire, one which claimed some 165 lives, consumed the Beverly Hills Supper Club in '77. There were looters there picking the pockets of the still-smoldering bodies as they were carried out and laid on the ground. I was really shaken by that experience and to this day I have absolutely no mercy for looters. I simply don't understand that kind of callous depravity.

that's gone on, that people would be a little less credulous. The "news" outlets are breathlessly reporting every last rumour they hear about. They do this every time. Days or weeks after any big tragedy, we always find out that most of the stuff that got reported early on turns out to have been false.
