US Missiles Kill 3 Suspected Militants in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani intelligence officials say a U.S. drone fired two missiles at a house in northwest Pakistan, killing three suspected militants.

The officials say the attack occurred before dawn on Thursday in the main bazaar in Miran Shah, the biggest town in the North Waziristan tribal area. Three suspected militants were also wounded. The exact identities of the dead and wounded were not known.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

The strike was the second in as many days in North Waziristan.

3. If I could name ONE ISSUE that is the most under-considered, under-criticized

.... it would be the US' killing by drones and general war-mongering.

For one thing, it shows off the fact that the Democratic Party is only against war, killing, illegal detentions, torture, etc. when it is the OTHER side doing it. It is inconsistent to the nth degree and tremendously disheartening to see.

AND it will come back to haunt the US and the Dems as all such acts do.

But mostly, mostly, it is just MONSTROUS and makes a sham and a lie out of all protestations that "our side" is the one with the moral standing.

We can all agree that Ron Paul is a racist with nutty ideas and that Rick Santorum is a religious nut who wants to take away women's rights over their bodies and to persecute homosexuals.

But honestly, how can we continue to overlook what WE, our side, is doing? We must get our house in order and that MUST mean we DEMAND an end to the killing being done in our name that is only extending the unending hatred and aggression.
