Dear GOP, you wanted them...well, now you have them. How's that workin' out for ya??

The GOP has courted every nut job single issue voter in America for the past 30 years. Well, now they have them all under their 'big tent' and they are starting to eat each other.

Isn't that lovely?

That does not bode well for 1) running a country and 2) running a Party. By nature, they aren't fit to govern.

issue was the REALLY important one. Well, they have succeeded so well that now they cannot shove them altogether to vote for one single candidate. And they have tried to attract so many diverse nuts that all the issues won't even fit into one single candidate. On top of that, the base is so frigging crazy that appealing to THEM means repelling 2/3 of the rest of the country.

Like they say...paybacks are hell.

That last part is actually cause for reflection. These are some tenacious nuts and should be watched carefully.

hopefully some will get unstuck and start voting more progressive. Or at least less neanderthal.

I agree the really tenacious nuts are cause for concern. They sometimes become dangerous (like militia nuts and actual murderers). Or tea party doofuses, lol.

He complained that the tea party politicians promised all kinds of things but haven't provided any of them. He blamed them for becoming Washington establishment once they got to Washington. He wanted to throw them out and elect some REAL tea party candidates next time.

They have a complete fantasy about government itself as well as everything else. They seem to think that politicians have the ability to change anything immediately. If they don't, they are traitors.

that their candidates used to get them fired up enough to vote. The candidates would shout and yell about going to Washington and tearing it down and starting over. They were going to hit that town and show it WHAT FOR!! (what the hell does that even mean??)

Tea Partiers must be naive. Actually, think about it...mostly they are. Billionaires like the Kochs know what the deal is, but they made a mistake. They have used the Tea Party to try to finagle lower taxes and more money for them. In the process they convinced a bunch of middle Americans from the middle of America that they had a REAL agenda. That they were going to get things done! Honestly, they even lied to manufacture the whole Tea Party movement. We don't pay too much in tax in this country; hell, if anything we don't pay enough. It's a message that resonates with every day people who have every day bills and who aren't very informed, though. So now all these naive people who really thought that they had something going on other than insuring less taxes for the already uber wealthy are a little disenchanted.

You know the great part?? The manipulators of the Tea Party used the deficit as an indicator that we need to reduce the size of government. They were doing the 'smaller government = less taxes' math. Now the Tea Party is starting to realize that you can't reduce the deficit by cutting government spending alone. I just heard a representative of the Tea Party Express yesterday on NPR talking about how they realized that spending cuts along were not going to get the job done with the deficit. At this point they are talking about 'pro growth policies'. Their idea of pro-growth is to get rid of the current tax code, but my point is that they are starting to get the idea that you cannot simply cut to reduce the deficit, you have to increase revenue. Since sooner is better than later and you can't get the tax code thrown out over night (read: ever), I wonder if they might get a little more open to allowing those tax cuts for the wealthy to expire at some point? Since they keep saying it is all about the deficit, after all.

...about tea-con disenchantment.

But I didn't make the case very clearly.

I am finding that the tea-cons in my blue collar world are increasingly obsessed with satanic/masonic symbols that are "everywhere". They tell me it's because no real change has come proving that there are shdowy over lords somewhere.

I just wonder if they jump to the even more ungrounded world of symbols and secret societies to give their disillusionment somewhere to go........ because joining us to fight for their share of America is just not an option.

...and they believed these used car salesmen when they said their Tea Party Studebaker was made of 100% All-American **mumblemumblesomething** and was only driven to church on Sundays by a little old apple-pie-baking lady. They believed because the little old lady wouldn't have cheated the salesmen when she sold it.

But then, they probably didn't notice the "kick me" signs taped to their backs because it had a Obama-Joker picture on it. Gave it thumbs-up, even. Especially if it was misspelled.

The Tea party isn't just lip service like the old main stream GOP. They are actually screwing with folk's lives in every bad way imagineable.

I remember when liberal used to be a dirty word. That is all going to change now. A day will come when calling a politician conservative will be the real political liability.

What do conservatives switch to now that they have stunk up the conservative brand? 'Reversalists'...'Contrarians'..."Backwardians'??
