I've been shaking my head about how daunting the task of fighting the drone program has become

A Washington Post-ABC News poll has found extensive and broad support across party lines for the Drone program which has been so drastically and notably expanded under our Democratic administration.

It's going to either take a catastrophe or a scandal to dislodge Congress from their collective support for the modern abomination. It really is a nightmare. All of our fears about the misuses and folly of mechanized warfare are being realized with the expansion and establishment of these 'hands off' weapons which can be devastatingly and tragically indiscriminate; despite the surety of those operating the machinery from hundreds and thousands of miles away. Then there were the summary executions from the air of terror suspects . . .

Now we're seeing the prospect of expanded approval of the drones for domestic missions. What other ends-justify-the-means technology will catch on for this generation of consequence-free-for-the-majority legislators satisfied with the distance between their immoral military actions and their consciences?

If anything, I want to see smaller, smarter drones that are capable of lurking among adversaries waiting to strike. I rather see a multimillion dollar drone crash than to have one soldier die hunting down terrorists. I am 100% for more numerous, more sophisticated, deadlier drones.

For the same reason that I have curtains on the front windows of my house. I like my privacy.

These drones will primarily be used to snoop on what is going on in your backyard and house. It isn't that I am doing anything terrible, anything illegal or even anything very interesting, but rather that I like the sense that I am not being watched and cannot be watched just because someone decides to watch me.

I think that drones in the US will mostly be used to snoop on us. Here in LA, I expect they will be used to check on how much water we use and what for. That's a big issue here.

I think people across party lines are so supportive simply because it appears like an 'easy solution', there is a huge disconnect. Just the same way people express concern about the environment, but don't actually have to live in toxic goop, or express concern about poverty but don't have to scavenge from a garbage dump to survive. Out of sight, out of mind. Even if they used them on the border, sadly, many wouldn't flinch at brown people being gunned down for (gasp) daring to enter the country illegally. The only end that I can envision, is when they start using them at home, and one crashes into a major city.
