(5,141 posts)3. I can't find anything on the news at all. Do you know which line? Hudson, Harlem, NewHaven?
its still rush hour, and GCT was a ZOO this afternoon, seemed like a lot of graduates celebrating together. I'm hoping no one was seriously hurt.
EDIT: found an article on LoHud-it was the New Haven line. Sounds like there could be serious injuries, but there is scant info now. http://www.lohud.com/article/20130517/NEWS/305170124/Injuries-service-suspended-after-Metro-North-derailment-Conn-

Two Metro-North Railroad trains collided after a major derailment near Fairfield, Conn., on Friday evening, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said, adding that there are preliminary reports of injuries.
At about 6:10 p.m., an eastbound train from New Haven to Manhattan derailed just east of the rail station in Fairfield, the authority said, then struck a westbound train on an adjacent track. Some cars from that train also derailed.

By SUSAN HAIGH | Associated Press 19 mins ago
Emergency workers arrive the scene of a train collision, Friday, may 17, 2013 in Fairfield, Conn. A New York-area commuter railroad says two trains have more collided in Connecticut. The railroad says the accident involved a New York-bound train leaving New Haven. It derailed and hit a westbound train near Fairfield, Conn. Some cars on the second train also derailed. FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) Two commuter trains serving New York City collided in Connecticut during Friday's evening rush hour, sending 60 people to the hospital, including five critically injured and one very critically injured, Gov. Dannel Malloy said. There were no reports of fatalities.
...
"We're most concerned about the injured and ultimately reopening the system," Malloy said from the scene about three hours after the crash. He said there was no reason to believe it was anything other than an accident.
Malloy said that most people were not seriously hurt. He said there was extensive damage to the train cars and the track, and it could take until Monday for normal service to be restored.
He said the area where the accident happened was down to two tracks because of repair work and that the accident will have a "big impact on the Northeast Corridor."
