WASHINGTON -- The Army says the coordinator of a sexual assault prevention program at Fort Hood, Texas, is under investigation for "abusive sexual contact" and other alleged misconduct. He has been suspended from all duties.
The announcement Wednesday evening came just days after the arrest of the Air Force's head of sexual assault prevention on charges of groping a woman in a northern Virginia parking lot.
The Army said a sergeant first class, whose name was not released, is accused of pandering, abusive sexual contact, assault and maltreatment of subordinates.
He had been assigned as an equal opportunity adviser and coordinator of a sexual harassment-assault prevention program at the Army's 3rd Corps headquarters at Fort Hood when the allegation arose.

p.s. I was watching Lawrence earlier - I thought he said he forced 'her' to prostitute herself.
I didn't hear about a 'prostitution ring'

My o my and to think for years there I thought that we'd gotten past our racist past or at least came to grips with it. Not no but hell no, Our country is as racist as its ever been. Its a good thing we have the internet today or they'd be carnage in our streets as I type.

(32,017 posts)It occurs to me that the United States of America is one of the least racist nations on Earth. I don't know how much foreign travel you have done, but, from my own experience, I have observed that the U.S. is less racist than Japan, the U.K., France, Switzerland, and Italy.
There are many things that cause me to be ashamed of the United States, but on this one issue, I think we are ahead of the rest of the world. We are the most multi-cultural society on Earth, and, I think, we are the least racist. We are still racist, to be sure, but we have made tremendous advances on this issue. We had a war in the middle of the nineteenth century on this issue, and the side of justice won. We have laws on the books from the 1960s that address these issues (unlike most countries). On the issue of race, we, in the United States, are quite advanced, and I am very proud of that fact. Certainly, racism still exists, but we are talking about it, addressing it, and have laws designed to regulate it, unlike most developed nations in the world.
I do not disparage you for continuing to fight against racism when you see it, but I wanted to note that we, in the United States, have done more to combat this injustice than any other nation on Earth.
Credit where it is due ... and we deserve credit here.

I have to admit that I have very little experience with travel. Other than Vietnam and Thailand I've not been anywhere. Where I was born and raised we had us mostly whites and Cherokee. Since most people there had some Cherokee blood there wasn't any racism. I wasn't exposed to racism until I went to the Navy and I was appall at what I seen there.
Warts and all I'm a happy American although I'd like to see more effort on our governments part to stamp out racism in all its forms.
